11th National Animal Cruelty Prosecution Conference announced

The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys, in partnership with the Animal Legal Defense Fund, will host the 11th National Animal Cruelty Prosecution Conference on December 13-15, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The goal of this training is to provide prosecutors, law enforcement, and others with the requisite skills to strengthen links between the criminal justice system and the community by protecting our most vulnerable victims and to enhance prosecutors' ability to successfully identify and prosecute animal cruelty and animal fighting cases.

The conference is intended for prosecutors, law enforcement and animal control officers, veterinarians and related disciplines involved in the prosecution of animal cruelty crimes.

New York State passes law allowing emergency responders to remove distressed pets left in cars

WENY-TV:
Under the new law, firefighters and other emergency personnel will be allowed to remove pets from unattended cars under conditions that endanger the animals' health or well-being, such as extreme temperatures.

The law goes into effect immediately.

Annual National Animal Abuse Prosecution Conference to be held in September

In partnership with the Animal Legal Defense Fund, the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys have announced the the 6th Annual National Animal Abuse Prosecution Conference.

The conference’s goal is to provide prosecutors and law enforcement with the requisite skills to strengthen links between the criminal justice system and the community by protecting our most vulnerable victims and to enhance prosecutors’ ability to successfully identify and prosecute animal cruelty and animal fighting cases.

This year's conference focuses not only basics of animal abuse prosecution, but tackles new and emerging issues facing criminal justice stakeholders today.

The Conference will be held in Austin, Texas on the dates of September 14-16th, 2016.

Registration is now open. All attendees are required to register.

5th National Animal Cruelty Prosecution Conference

The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA) in partnership with the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) presents the 5th National Animal Cruelty Prosecution Conference taking place on
November 4-6, 2015 in Pittsburgh, PA.

This conference, hosted at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, will bring together prosecutors, investigators, veterinarians and related professionals in the criminal justice and animal welfare field, to enhance their efforts in combating animal cruelty and related violent crimes.

There is no registration fee for this conference.
